Hi my Mrs bought this to my attention sent by a friend on Facebook so I of course said I would try and spread the word and hopefully we might be able help.

jamie8v, thank you for sharing the link to my brother in laws car.  Sadly there has been no word since the theft.  I suspect the car will be broken for parts - a mint 55k mile car is bound to raise too many questions if it came up for sale.

I am pleased to say that he couldn't be without a Golf for too long and is now the proud owner of a low mileage Clipper.

JamieH , Your welcome mate, sorry to hear that there’s not been a better outcome for him, sad to think that it came to such an undignified end in the hands of idiots.
Glad he’s had a bit of luck with a cabby though, be sure and send him over we’d all be interested to see what he’s found himself.

A sad end to a great car, but, to take something positive from this episode it has brought him into the MK1 family

It has also given me an incentive to start work on my own project.  I acquired an '83 GTi tin-top in 2016 in need of significant work but too many work/life commitments have meant I have not had the time to touch it.  The Clipper is currently stored in my garage so I have a daily reminder that I need to get cracking on the GTi!

We'll start new posts on both cars shortly.
