Lego Mk1 Golf

Hi all,
It's been a while since I have been active on here but I needed to share this.
I'm sorry if there is already a thread about this but I couldn't find one.
I have found a Lego Mk1 golf on the Lego ideas website https://ideas.lego.com/projects/155745 and I had to support the idea. If it gets 10000 supporters then it goes to the big bosses of Lego to get approval and then if it is approved it will go in to production.
Let's all go to the above site and  support this project because I would love one of these.

Love this will go to Lego support and push for it. Hope more do too as its great!

Looks good, just wish they would make them a bit bigger then they could get the shape a bit better.

Mind you there's an uncanny likeness to one of these.



The polish made Polonez from the late 70's, 80's.
Brings back real nightmares of being a car salesman back then. If someone drove in with one of these you'd see the showroom empty of staff like it was on fire!

If you took one of these in p/x you basically owned it for years, couldn't give them away.
I should know because I did, a bottle green one, I still brake out into cold sweats just thinking about it decades later.  

Anyhow do go the the Lego link above and vote yes, we can then see who can build the funniest looking MK1.

As you can see the USSR liked to make their own copy version of Western Europe's products…ironically it would be as rare as "rocking horse poo" today and worth a small fortune     You should have kept it…and not hated it so much… lol

You will all be pleased to know that the Golf hit 10000 supporters, it now needs to be approved before going to be manufactured.

I think the golf is OK, though could probably be improved with a bit of redesign. it also needs to be red!

The landrover is spot on though. really like that.

 Sad news- the review board have decided not to go ahead with the mk1. Shame-I was looking forward to getting one for Christmas!

Price is very stupid haha, but suppose if it’s the only one that’s knocking about it could be worth tracking down

The guy who sent the plans into Lego is now trying to sell the Lego plans on eBay now. If you search for eBay number - 282634669541.  I've got himi down to $20 which he saying is as low as he will go.  I'm not too sure how much it would cost you outright to build it tho.  Would be interested to know if anyone else has brought this.
