Isn't Technology so impressive?

Today I had to run to the store for bread and the cobbler to pick up my re-soled shoes.  I was walking back to my car… and I noticed a beautifully equipped BMW SUV.  It was my Favorite color combo, Dark Blue/Tan
Fully equipped as I saw the AC the large screen media player or Nav.

You know the Technology that they have put into the newer cars is remarkable.  GPS, Onboard Diags, automatic door poppers, remote start, Navigation , Bluetooth for phones.
I have fond memories of taking out my Atlas and mapping out routes I was going to drive.
Now you can with a touch of a button create the route…
Folding up the different maps was sometimes a chore, but you had to know how to get there.

Don't get me wrong, a car to tell you that you need to check the oil as you don't have that as a weekly scheduled event, Air cleaners that are dirty, yep the Maintenance required light displays to say the door is actually ajar. which headlight or tail light is out.
Ding if you leave your keys in or Dong's if you left your lights on.
Remotes that can tell you where you are located.  I have seen night vision heads up displays (actually really nice) back up cameras, Self parking cars and trucks. Mirrors and seats that adjust to your driving like backing up and it points to the curb.
It is all really nice, but the one thing I have noticed especially on the Bmer, is that I don't think it has a warning to tell you, that you didn't shut your fuel door… How dam Fuelish is that.  :) Because hers was at 90 degrees wide open to the body.  :)  I guess she was busy texting while filling and got "Distracted."!

I cannot believe the above Briano, a woman filling a car up? Nope that is just too far fetched for words. :ocf_emoticons__eek:  :ocf_emoticons__icon_lol:  :ocf_emoticons__icon_lol:

Most car manufacturers have now started to attach the filler cap to the car on a little bit of rubber cord so you don't leave that behind….
I used to see loads of filler caps left in petrol stations years ago and no car in sight….

Do these people forget to put their shoes on before going out in the morning????  I think not…

Actually we have 2 states in the Union that specifically by law that states that the average person is too stupid to fill their tanks, and that a Gas Station attendant must put the fuel in the tank.  One is New-Jersey, and the other Oregon, but there are places in Oregon that now allow you to fill your tank, I think it is in Specific Cities or Rural areas.

I think the only time my Wife puts gas in the cars is when she drives to visit her kin folk.

I can remember the Stringless Caps…. shoot I never lost a Gas Cap, but I have had them stolen on my cars…. Funny since I have Locking caps on all my cars, I haven't had one stolen since…….
