Insurance Renewal

Post

Good Afternoon,

Just renewed my insurance with Lancaster Insurance at £245 which is not bad for my area, just found out that they can’t offer me a any club member discount which I thought was strange [emoji2371] oh well insured for another 12 months hopefully I’ll get to use it a lot more this year [emoji1362].

Do I have a 1980 1.6GTI. I am 44 and pay £160 per year fully comp with Grove and Dean. They auto renew each year and the price has not really changed for 3 years. It is a classic car policy with less than 5k miles allowed each year. I live near Birmingham so indeed enough car hackers and thieves for it to be representative for all I guess 😟

Let's see what everyone else pays.

And yes I know tax is more than insurance but that goes free in about 2 years for me woohoo

£290 with Hagerty, but that's for my Clipper and my Mk1 Escort with modifications, both garaged. It's the damn Clipper that bangs my premium as it's "newer" car at 1992.

Erm £89 with Lancaster last year valued at 7K

But I only pay £250 a year for my 330d

Current rides:
2003 Honda CRF450R (impossible to start)
2003 BMW 330d Manual Saloon Msport
1985 GTI cabriolet black edition (42k miles)
2004 Mk1 Octavia VRS (250bhp) For Sale
2002 Yamaha R1 track bike (crashed badly)

Insurance Renewal

Wow I wouldn’t mind paying £250, I pay £96 a month for a Scirocco R, couldn’t get any quotes with modifications so I’ve had to leave it as no mods.

They beat my renewal with Hagerty by £50.
Its the only time being old helps you!
