Getting agreed value
I've a Campaign in Alpine White that's coming to and end of a long 5 year rebuild (no time, kids etc etc)
I've tried to get an agreed value on it but Lancaster want full pics etc - fair enough.
However the engine & box are yet to go in as are the front seats. Everything else is done, all bodywork, panel work paintwork and rest of interior, glass, trim all sorted so looks like a new pin on the outside.
So if i send them pics without engine what value 🤷🏼♂️ - even though it's rebuilt and ready for installation they are unlikely to agree to a market value ?
Anyone else got an agreed valuation on a part restored car?

But how can it be valued with an engine in and running etc when it doesn't have an engine and isn't a running car?

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Send the pics and see what they say. I have 20k on mine as a running and driving car. What loss risk are they covering. Not going to be taken down the road too easily with no engine. More fire risk I guess. Go for 20k and see what they say.

I know prices are shooting up but are GTIs without running gear and seats really worth 20 grand these days??

Good morning.
I hear you but it’s replacement cost. If the garage space is housing the car, engine, Parts etc and catches fire what will it cost to replace.
If as described it’s all there and in good shape it’s still got the same value as if completely together (sort of)
So what if they come back and say 15k. Still 5k more than if you asked for 10k.
There was absolutely no quibble when I did mine they just put £13 onto the annual premium to cover the increased value.
