I think I need to change my cooling fan.
It comes on and spins etc but it’s feeble. Obviously midden day cooling fans make that nice buzzing noise when running and although you can hear mine you can stop it with quite a light touch.
Thinking of ordering a like for like or an upgrade which fits in the original cowling.
Thoughts? Is my fan sounding normal for a 1.6 get tin top?? Or do you recommend a particular fan to replace the OEM version.
Thanks

I seen that fans from heritage are two speed. Think mine is only single speed.
Wondering if I need to modify wiring.

If your motor got three wires it's prob two speeds if 2 wire my guess is single speed. Might want to check your temp sensor also to see how many wires / switch on temps it has also.
I think I got my new motor from spectra……not 100% sure but will double check on that and send you some info.

Also from checking the circuit it might only be single speed……..I'm not sure about the speeds now looking back at this. Thought it was dual speed but now not sure. The three wires still makes me think it's dual speed and prob done with resistance as I mentioned previously.

Also attached is a copy of the after-run relay circuit for a scirocco, not sure if same for GTI if yours even has that installed. I guess mines doesn't have it installed. Current tracks 138,139 and 140
