Hi there.
I'm looking for a nice cover to protect my new mk1 Scirocco project which needs to live on my driveway
I'm not interested in something super expensive and fancy, just something which offers good weather protection and is good value.
Thanks for any tips
David

have you looked at cover-zone, Specialised Cover and Hamilton Classic Car Covers?

Ordered one from Hamilton, seemed to represent relatively good value.
Thanks for the tip!

As someone who has had a golf living outside for 3yrs now and wasting lots of money on covers there is only one option.
A cheap cover from Aldi or Lidl, as long is its soft inside it doesn't matter and a lightweight tarp over the top of that

Car cover advice? Mk1 Scirroco
I had a cheap eBay cover for about a year. It scratched the pain with micro scratches and was always coming off. Used to sweat underneath also. Finally cleared out the garage and put it inside for a year.
We then moved house and no garage. Grrrrr. So had to get it right this time. I brought a cover from classic additions at the start of September. It was not cheap. £200. But I would say worth every penny. In the recent monsoon weather has kept my little GTI as dry as a bone. Is very secure with three straps and slightly stretchy meaning it fits nice and tight.
I agonised about hiring a garage for mine etc or even building a car port and although a cover is not 100% ideal I am really pleased with mine.
Hoping this move is just temporary until we buy again so this is a 2 year plan for the cover personally then we will have proper protection again.
I looked around a lot and there is nothing that has good reviews below £200 for something you want to give good protection to.
I went for their version ultimate outdoor car cover size small for my 1980 GTI.
Hope this helps.

Good value/cheap and good weather protection don't go hand in hand unfortunately.
Only expensive covers work, and they'll still marr your paint after extensive use.

Thanks for the posts…I'm renting a garage for about 60 quid a month and was thinking about just buying a cover for my cab. Don't have a mortgage to pay so will stick with garage as long as I can.
