Any interest in stainless steel bumper brackets

I am going to make a set of stainless steel brackets for early metal bumpers and wondered if that was something that anyone else would be interested in?

I'm sure once you've made a set and then posted some pictures some guys/girls will want some. If I was looking to have shiney chrome bumpers I would look at shiney brackets to mount to.

Hmmm shiny.

I know my brother in law is looking for some front ones and I might have a set for Clive from you for the bumpers that are sat in the office gathering dust.

Any ideas on cost though? Someone put up a link to ones he'd found, wonder who that was  :P , so they'd need to be cheaper or better.

You going to include the towing eye attachment so we could delete the towing eyes on the cars too?

Hi Ian, price will depend on demand I think cost of materials and so on, if there is enough interest I’ll do a CAD drawing and get them cut in a batch.
As for the towing eye attachment I didn’t know there was such a thing, I have a plan on how to delete my towing eye but I suppose there could be a separate bracket that sandwiched in between the chassis and the bumper bracket that came down under the bumper but isn’t that sort of swapping one for the other

My tow eyes are bolted to the bottom of my bumpers.

Early cars never had them on the body.

That’s interesting couldn’t trouble you for a pic or 2 when you get a spare 5 minutes I’ve tried to google it and I’m not having much luck

They''re a lot more subtle and can only be seen when looking under the car.

Much better than a huge loop sticking out the front of the car, especially the huge ones on cabbies that had the clipper kit.

You can kinda see them here but I can get more detailed photos if need be.

Much more subtle than later cars.

Fnished my CAD drawing so will be sending it out for pricing tomorrow, made a prototype from the drawing with hand tools so not perfect but  just wanted to check that everything fits. IMG_0331.JPG IMG_0332.JPG IMG_0333.JPG

Well after much toing and froeing with the engineer for the laser cutting the brackets will be £110 per set of 4 made from 2.5mm stainless steel and supplied with stainless steel bolts and washers.

Yeah you can! If you get right down under the bumper and sort of peer up behind whilst squinting a bit it’s easy lol
I just found that mild steel ones are between £20 - £25 each so why not have something that won’t rust, or if you have got chrome or stainless bumpers might compliment them a little.
Plus it gave me something to do in the evenings lol

Good afternoon,

I'm just doing a bit of research as im looking to replace my clipper bumpers with small metal ones.

So i am looking at brackets to attach them. Did you ever go ahead and get any stainless ones made?
Thanks in advance,
Adam
