How to fit new trims tricky

Hi guys I've recently purchased a pair of new gutter trims from werks34. I know they need cutting down slightly.
Which I don't have a problem doing but what I am finding tricky is clipping them on does anyone have any ideas on the best way to do this as I thought it would just be a simple pull the old off and clip the new on.
As anyone ever fitted these new

Glue them on with either Tiger seal or slikaflex adhesive.
They should push over the seams.  Other wise you'll be buying them again.
They were bonded on from factory.

It's pushing them on I'm having problems with mate they are really tight and they don't just push on it looks like they push on then need to be bent over the lip if you know what I mean

I used Tiger seal but be careful not to use to much of it.
It's hard to guess how much and if you do it won't seat properly!

This a powerful glue/sealant and it takes less than you think.
If you over do it the trim will ripple a bit when dry and the excess is an SOB to clean off.
Trust me I know. 😕

I don't recommend doing in cold conditions and if the trims feel cold, warm then up a touch but don't over do that either.

It's a bit of an art in my opinion! 👍

I waited until the weather was +20 degrees before I did the one on mine.

I'd bought the replacement before Christmas 🎄 😂👍

But if the Metal is cold…..

I usually used the fit over the edge and roll it on then scoot push.

Black silicone works well to adhear them, a little goes a long way, I mean if they glue Aquariums Glass at the edges on my 25 gallon tank,,,,
It (rtv) when wet is also a slight lubricant…helps getting them on…..I would never try to put them on in the cold at all, you may want to wait for warmer conditions.

If you use a heat gun take care not to melt them or burn your paint…. I prefer a Electric Hair dryer myself….

Hi mate they arn't cut to size as they are originally of a Vw bus so you have to trim them to the size you need but that's the easy part mate I don't have a problem with.

It's clipping them on which is the real ball ache they don't just push on or slide  they kinder have to be clipped on then bend over so they sit properly it can be done just a bit tricky
It doesn't help being so cold i'm told warmer is better so either try to heat them slightly or wait till summer I mite give it another go the weekend.

They are the right ones apart from length it's just they are very very tight

I email werk34 the other day and asked the best way to fit
They  replied first cut them down to size as they are originally from a Wv bus but are the same as golf just longer in length.

No  mate because I have to trim them they only have bend at the bottom where water runs off but I'm told you can get the tops to curve with a little force
I did find a little strange that I had to cut down so I did ask the question and weks34 reply was cut them down to fit.

As an one else purchase these did they also have to be cut down ?

smallest things are the trickiest! :| PITA  & will test you!!  When they say about cutting to size, i take it when you compare your old ones they're bigger??? if you got the old ones…

If i was to do this, i would heat them up until they felt a little bit flexible then try & slide from the top down where you can see a 'gap' on the Pillar trim then when you've got a few inches on you should be able to press on, from where it's on, slowly to the bottom if you get my meaning… sounds easy doesn't it… :$

There is more clearance available to you if the "top" is down…. :)

Don't know if it helps but I need to remove them from my cabby for paint and while I was cleaning out the boot carpet I found a brand new one still in a vw parts bag I can try and fit it and let you know my findings as I'm not worried about paint damage. I'm not sure but I believe it curves at both ends. I'll add a couple of pics later once I've been out to the garage.
