hydraulic oil power roof

hi all not sure if this is the correct section to post this(if not i'm sure someone will move it ) i need to top up the hydralic oil for my power roof on my cabby i have tried gsf but they dont have it is it only available at vw  

Any hydraulic oil will do.

Well the Volkswagen part number is :- G 002 500

If your not getting it from VW just make sure its equivalent of the above.

Also dont forget the fluid needs to be checked when the roof is down

I have had to top up my system after a leaking ram and found that the oil from VW is very expensive and

only came in one litre bottles and you only need a small amount.

Car lube oils do a replacement for this oil in small 500ml bottles.

Them numbers dont cross ref with the vw part number

When I tried to find the same oil but not from VW could not find it but did some searching on the web and found this oil to be

as close as to the original as it could be have had no issues using it for the last two years.

Have since been told about this oil as well and does look to be the same as VW and only £8.

had a nosey around various places got a bit fed up with hearing " it should be ok everyone buys this one " i eventually ended up at vw and it cost me a whole £7.80 for a 1 ltr bottle not as bad as i thought
