Ina tensioner is also what I have fitted and they seem OK.

I think you can still buy genuine VW ones if you wish.

It's a easier for me to get a Conti belt else where and delivered to my door for free than go to VW, pay and they order one, go back and pick it up in a day or 2 as my local VW dealer is a 25 mile round trip.
If yours is not local it maybe worth a phone call as they don't usually keep them in stock. If they start talking about fitting a new water pump at the same time as cambelt walk away as they don't know about old VW's and referring to a newer car!
