Full fuel pressure from pump to metering head also.

Have you tried lifting the plate by hand , if nothing still comes out and you say you have good fuel pressure, it sounds like the piston valve inside is stuck.

The plate on top of the air filter is up constantly and does move when cranking. Can the piston valve be unstuck easily?? Ta lee

If you jump the fuel pump relay between the 2 big terminals (can't remember what numbers they are) so the fuel pump runs on its own, with out cranking the engine , when you take the rubber of the top of the air plate you can pull it up and down , you need to have an injector out and you should see the fuel squirting out . The piston should move freely it is kept in contact with the air plate arm through the warm up regulator. Google how k jetronic works there are some good write ups on how it works to give you an understanding on the system.

If the plate is stuck up seems the fuel plunger is stuck. But up is full flow so mind you dont borewash the engine.

Relay shorted and when I pull up the plunger no fuel up through to the injectors! All I can hear is air being pushed up through. Looks poorly!

Before you dismantle the metering head check fuel delivery  before it goes into metering head, I think you should have minimum of about 700 ml after 30 seconds,

Also your injrctors won't open unless you have 3 - 4 bar fuel pressure, I can't remember what it is precisely.
