Interchangable engine codes

Post

Hi

Recently bought a new engine (DX) and have found it has a crack on the head, currently in 2 minds whether to take it to be possibly repaired or just buy a new head.

Want to know what codes my head is a straight swap with, my code of 026 103 373 AA With 59 vertically after.

I've been offered a head with the code 026 103 373 F with no vertical number, the WWO is also stamped in a different place.

Is the only possible difference in DX heads if they're hydraulic lift or solid? Pretty sure they're both hydraulic so it should be a straight swap?

Should an 83 DX originally be solid or hydraulic?

Thanks

83 would have been solid lifter originally. hydro lifter kjet heads will fit straight on, just if its later one they have an extra vacuum port on the back you need to blank off.

digifant heads will also fit but you need to find the right age kjet head to swap the injector inserts over so not much help if yours wont fit

That's great thanks, thought so but always good to get it confirmed. Will it matter if my block is a later DX block? If all the blocks would be the same I'll get a solid lifter head and keep the block.
Cheers again

Quite a long way, could always organise a courier though.

Honiton or Honington? Think Honington is a long way from me!
