Alright r.j ?its been a while .I'm using the set up from a m.k1 gti.Bit of  an update i blew the filter and rail to injector with airgun and eventually got it to start ,also rechecked and cleaned earths and its attempting to start and usually does ,but its killing my batteries .ALso its jerking and backfiring then cutting out completely as the plugs are completely blocked with soot after a few mins. But I might have found my problem ,one battery isn't charghing this threw me cos its a bosch item with only 10k on it and the other battery isn't much better .Seem to remember seeing something about having 13.2 volts otherwise ecu overfuels

Have you  checked the  resistance to the  co2  meter  ?

Which is the co2 meter ?the co pot thingy is set to 500 .my lambda has less than 10k on it.i'm going to try a different battery and change alternator today.

finally got it running ,put new battery in and it ran although it is very smoky black dark grey coming out the back and lots of it too,I  took it for a drive and it went like the clappers 12 psi showing on my new VDO gauge .Could the smoke be from unburnt fuel from all my attempted starts ?

most likely yeah, lots of failed/short starts will coke up the cylinders and the best way to sort it is rag the a*** off it up the road

thanks R.J ,I've been at this again it started first time this morning and idled nicely .just taken it for a drive and its crazy fast ,but the plugs are still fouling after ten mins or so I cant really take it for a long drive as I'm afraid of it dying on me from the sooty plugs .I'd take it for a drive on the motorway but I dont want to get stranded

good afternoon R.J. not a bosch item,I bought it on ebay from meat and doria ,strange name. The lad from GSF has heard of them and said the company is legit. its done about 10k .I'm gonna take it for a drive soon and I'll report back .I'm going to leave lambda hooked up I reckon theres lots  of unburnt fuel in the system so I'll try it connected and see what happens .

Took this for ten mile drive and it drove ok 11psi and lots of power.a bit jumpy to start but that seemed to  ease off .after I gave it some of the right foot.I got back to the house and I checked plugs BP6ET and they where sooty black  .So I  unplugged the lambda and switched to DEnso   IW22 plugs, it drove for about a mile and it died on me at a junction with lots of school time traffic, nice.Anyway the  plugs where fouled with soot

alright if it drove prett much the same with lambda unplugged can rule it out, unless the wiring has snapped somewhere so it doesnt get a signal even when plugged in so thats worth a look.

otherwise it just seems to be running rich, maybe check the temp sensor, resistance curve is in my digi guide plus a coupel other bits apply:

make sure the ecu vac line is 1 meter long and intact, and check the ignition timing, idle & co as per the pg….pdf documents in my signature :)
