Engine Rebuild In West Yorkshire

Post

well seems my engine isn't having a good time lately, dont get me wrong she still runs. she just doesn't seem very happy. im sure she has a small misfire, ive already changed the HT Leads, rotor arm and dizzy cap. i changed the plugs a few weeks ago and they where coked up and had oil on them. assume this means the valve stem oil seals are shot which from what i understand means i might as well replace the head gasket set? is there anything else i can have a competent garage do to increase the reliability of the engine?

is anyone aware of a great, well priced garage in the Bradford/Leeds Area? i contacted IVC in Leeds and was quoted £900!!!

Hi. I'm in haworth and looking at your picture your running same set up as me (abf with dan st zx6 carbs) I had the same problem as you, bit of blue smoke and oily plugs ie valve stem seals. I put a good but expensive additive in with my oil and sorted it within 20 miles off running and cured the miss fire strait away.

It's all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits

P's bradford engine rebuilds at top of bowling back lane would only charge about £400 if you need to go down that route ;)

What additive are you referring to exactly? It's starting to sound very tappy as well tbh. Im also having to top up the oil every other week or so

Stuff you want is on ebay called AMETECH ENGINE RESTORER. The engine place is right at the top of bowling back lane on the right hand side they are very good on price and spot on, I can highley recommend them.
