Hi All

I'm running a bet with my mechanic to agree what we do next with my clipper.

I'm aiming for 30+ responces.. :)   please answer 4 simple questions.

1.Do you run a standard perburg 2e2 ? =2e2

2.Do you run a webber with manual choke? =webber

3.Do you run something else? =else

4.Would you recommend your current setup ? =yes /no

Cheers
Jez

I'll let you know who wins the bet and what we end up doing !

Here's my answers but it's for my Mk1 scirocco as my golf is fuel injection.
1, orginal carb went wrong as its complex and difficult to get running right so binned it.
2, Got Webber with manual choke, simple easy to set up and maintain.
3, No
4, If your orginal carb is running fine then leave it but if any problems change it for a Webber as it simple, you wont gain any performance from fitting a straight swap Webber carb, 15 years later I've had no problems with my Webber carb so I would recommend it.

1. I had 2e2 carb which was totally knackered, fix it and it was awesome
2. no
3. no
4. yes

but yeah, its a case of if the 2e2 is healthy its awesome, if not its a pig. weber is the easy way to fix it, my guide is the hard way:

people who say 2e2 are rubbish have just failed at fixing them, one thing they are not is rubbish. but they are very complicated units so it takes time and patience to sort them properly. This is the price you pay if you want a carb engine which runs just as well as a fuel injected one ;)
