oil pressure light and buzzer

Post

hi all, I'm a bit stuck here.

1983 1.5 carb around 1900rpm to 2200 rpm oil light/buzzer keeps going off. I take my foot of the pedal when it comes on and then put it straight back on which then clears it until I get back to this rev range? I've tried both blue and brown pressure switches and I'm running the white one on the oil filter housing.
I've change both the high and low pressure switches
New oil filter and oil
I took the sump off and cleaned the pickup

when the car is at its running temperature there is no oil light at tick over or above 2200rpm. Really got me stumped!

The buzzer is meant to work when you get above 2000 rpm so that's normal.
It's either there is low oil pressure if so fit a new pump or faulty instruments buzzer I guess the senders are OK as they are new, did it do it before you changed the senders?

the buzzer is handled by the white switch on the filter housing, is it a genuine one? if not remove it and check the rating it should be 1.8bar. check the wire is ok too, peel the rubber boot back and have a look. it should be a blue/black wire on this one.

Thank you both, I will check that the pressure switches are ok and the wires. If not it looks like a new oil pump.... Thanks again
