Oil filter ??

Hi
What oil filter recommended for 81 1.5 carb, have been told Mahle/Knecht
OC47 also OC264(this has "rubber flap near top)

What differences?

I have 88 polo (filter mounts horizontal, golf is vertical) & told OC47 correct for this???
Also have 1.5d & 1.6d ,what best for them?

Where I find application chart for vw s  maybe also cross reference for
Mann,etc             have googled no luck…..

Not heard of Mahle/Knecht. I would use genuine VW filters to be honest - part number 056 115 561 G is correct for yours, in fact think this does all petrol mk1's. 068 115 561 B is the part number for the diesel filter. GSF should do genuine VW filters.
