Carb to injection

Sorry if this has been asked loads before
I have a really original late clipper, but fancy converting to an injection, I scrapped a late GTI that had a BP code engine and digi injection, rather than doing a complete engine swap, can I just swap the head? ie are the bottom ends the same???
Both cars are 1990 models

I suppose you could swop the head but you may have to find the injection wiring loom also as there are many plugs on injection systems

I've got the complete set up including the loom, both engines are sub 100K could swap complete engine, thought it would save time just swapping heads if poss?

You will also need to swop over fuel lines and you will need a fuel lift pump in the fuel tank, main fuel pump under the car, accumulator to hold the fuel pressure, meter head, fuel filter, fuel pump relay etc……
Any thing is possible but it will involve some time and work.

if yours is a 1.8 yes you can swap the head over the 1.8 gti and carb bottom end is the same. remove the fuel pump and swap the blank over from the 1.8 lump.

was it a ce1 or ce2 mk2?
