first thing you need to check if your head has solid or hydro tappets, pop the cover off and look at the cam cap bearings. if all there then its a solid lifter head and you need a solid lifter mk1/2 1.8 gti cam. if one is missing its a hydro lifter, then you need a hydro 1.8 mk1/2 cam, or possibly the mk3 one

the mk3 had all cam caps, and the cams looks the same
the car did come with a spare cam so not sure what i have in it atm,
there is 5a written on one and the other has 3a so think they are different any ideas on what they are off

need to get the horn fixed first as cant mot till it works so will do the cam once on the road
