Can I get a refund or do I just deal with it?

Abso effing lutely gutted!  My wheel bearings died and welded themselves onto the axle so I can't make the show!!!  Is it possible to refund the ticket, or maybe sell it on to someone else or do I just have to take it on the chin and see it as going to a good cause?  I wouldn't have usually asked but as the garage wanted to charge me £400 for the repair (which definitely shouldn't be that much!) I need every penny I can scrape.  Thanks

Big G

Just take it on the chin mate it's all going to a good place !

At least you were meant to be going I am on hols in Belgium and we have had no sun in 9 days, gutted!!

Bad enough missing the AGM but no sun is taking the Madame:-(

At least I am taking the wee car to a car show on my return next weekend ;-)

Hope your fix gets on better as £400 sounds wrong?

It massively is!  Sourced the parts myself just now and shaved £130 off that already.  Getting charged £55/hour labour doesn't help, but at midnight you get towed wherever they can.  Not gonna grumble and yeah, the £10 will not only go to helping the best forum there is, but also come back round for some good ol' karma points!!! :D

When u get fixed you should bring your golf to Knockhill next Sunday just outside Edinburgh as there is a few mk1s from the forum meeting at it!
There is a thread running on the meet on regional meets by bazmk1.

Well she should be fixed by Wednesday I'd hope.  Does sound good…a little far, but if the sun's out would be a good run out for her :)  Although I have a feeling your engine bay may make me sick so as long as you keep your bonnet down ;)

Engine bay is nearly as good as I will get for an amateur, to do it properly you need the engine out which will never happen.
Just got a few zinc bits, coil bracket, lower bonnet latch and battery clamp which look ok but paid £30 for new bonnet latch but it's for a left hand drive so been conned I think !!

Going to buy a zinc plating kit when I get home for doing my latch and maybe some other bits and pieces.

Just bought 35mm lowering kit, gear linkage kit, diesel gearbox mount and waiting on an AUG gearbox which I will get refurbed and fitted over the winter. Also it's stalled a couple of times and won't restart for a while so got new fuel pump relay hopefully to solve it but who knows. Lastly in a couple of weeks getting a full stainless exhaust system from longlife fitted.

The list goes on but when there is nothing wrong with the car in the first place it's hard sweet talking the wife!!
