My Mk4 project.... picture heavy
Here she is, sat outside the garage, all lonely and unloved, i know as soon as i saw her that i had to have her… (ok, so this isnt her, but near as damn it the same as every other 1.6 silver golf!)
she was my first car at the tender age of 26 and i had plans….
it was at this moment that i joined uk-mkivs, oh how that was going to turn out to be an expensive decision!
First up was a little polish and the wing mirrors went black
then some black on the front grill, which if i am honest i was never too sure of but i was "spray can happy" at that point of ownership
The rear badge became a victim of the spray can assult
now this part i cant remember what came first, i think they were both done on the same weekend so that may explain my confusion…
M3 style rear lights….
from this
to this…
and some lovely home made body colour valances
resulting in
then came the wheels… i always liked the style of the R32s but i thought that i wanted to be a little bit different so i want for some Team Dynamic Monza's in 18" and i liked the results
next were the rubstrips, anni rear valance and roof…
and then…. i realised, i should do things properly, it was sitting 20 foot in the air and i just wasnt that happy with it….
off i went, debit car in hand to my local body shop… as a result, this happened…

I will be keeping my Mk1 OEM though, i have taken all my "max power" modding out on my mk4!
i think i will go with OEM+ on my mk1, maybe upgrade a few bits and bobs but make it look standard.
