Lumoxs & the daily MK1 GTI...Project AEB 1.8T
so here she is:
Completly standard. It's done 177k miles had a full engine rebuild 50k ago with a brand new clutch and the rebuild cost over 9k as every part was bought genuinly from VW with full recipets to prove as well
fully undersealed…
My plans :dontknow:
well…. i have a a mk3 VR6 cabrio project at the minute ad thats taken all my funds… as soon as thats done and rolling and show ready, i'll be looking to smacka 1.8T into this one.
but firstly, i want to get a set of coilovers and a nice set of 13" alloys for it and fresh paint job and leave her at that for a while. Pics of her right now:

Looking good Very tidy
If it was mine i'd be tempted to keep it standard but as you say, on some nice wheels and lowered a bit. awesome

well unfortunately, i have had to buy an aftermarket exhaust due to my back box falling off!!!
dam it…
so i have invested in a sportex exhaust system with a 3" outward rolled tail pipe… hopefully that will be with me soon so i'm not the loudest person in the SW haha
Thats the beaut… gone for the extra silencer too

To answer your question
Your car will have 90mm shafts, you can use the 8v box you have or fit cable change (better option) if this route you will need 100mm shafts from a cabby.
custom mounts, ecu, either stock thats been flashed to remove immo or stand alone. custom downpipe and a loom from rubjonny or qpeng etc.

Im 99% sure a vr6 box wont fit to the engine!
G60 flywheel coupled with a vr6 clutch and a mk4 gearbox will be your best option as it will do away with the dm flywheel.
If you get stuck for a cable shifter i have a few, really depends on what tower you have as there are 3 different terminations.
I have mk4 gearbox's aswell if you require one.
