car juddering when diving. Anyone knows what it could be?

The garage has just chaged me good money to sort out my juddering, but it is still the same! When I put the foot down, and particularily on hills it struggles and seems to mis fire. They bought a secind hand Pierburg carb and took parts from that to refurb mine. On the invoice there is no mention of a carb rebuild kit. I would have thought that would be essential? I also noticed when the car is hot, it doesnt start straight away and I can smell fuel when I start it from hot. 

What engine do you have?
Is the carb flange OK, the rubber gasket which the carb sits on as they can crack/split and let air in to check start the car and wobble the carb.
What are the emissions like/ CO2 mixture?
How old are the spark plugs, HT leads, dissy cap, rotor arm, points if it has them?

Have you taken the car back to the garage and let them know you still have the same problem?
