I've just bought a 89 vw clipper cab, it doesn't have a back window in the roof. Can you buy a window to put in or does it need a new roof?
Thanks

Welcome to the Club.
the rear window bottom section is held in place by 2 brackets that bolt to the frame and the parcel shelf supports.
If there missing you'll need them.
Plus the top section is held in place by 2 webbing straps and dowel pins.
If the webbing straps are missing then it's top off time as the fixings are underneath the whole lot.
(See piccy at the bottom, you'll see the Frame with the 2 webbing straps)
It's a common scenario as the rear window frame rusts out folks don't bother to replace them.
The frame is made up of 4 sections
The metal frame (usually Rusts away)
The insert (the hood material is stapled here)
The rubber seal (speaks for it's self)
The glass (like wise)
You'd need to check what you have left as to the above.
Cheers
Chortle
You need the longer thinner brackets shown.
