Play in steering?
Hi,
I have a Clipper and there seems to be a bit of play with the steering. When stationary I can turn the wheel about an inch either way before I get any resistance. Is this normal?
Also steering is quite heavy (wheels are 195/50/15")
Any ideas?
Cheers

Check for loose steering mounts on the body [behind the engine the rack is clamped to the body via 2 mounts] , worn track ends [the bit that connects to the hub near the wheel] also as i said wear in the rack it's self .
If you are unsure it may in view of the safety implications of dodgy steering get it checked by your friendly local garage .
