mk1 caddy brake transplant advice needed
below question answered, pls see 4th post
as title, i have rear drums/cylinders/shoes and fitting kit ready in wait for an 88 cabby, but my 86 caddy needs the work first.
just wanna check the rear brake setup is the same before i strip the caddy down?
caddy is a 1600 diesel if that matters

Although the basic design/layout is the same the Caddy ones are bigger to cope with the extra weight when the pickup is fully loaded. Don't think any of the parts are interchangable.

Hi, Have checked the part numbers on the VW EKTA system and they are different for the Caddy and Cabby.

yeah cheers for that, it became apparent once i got the rear wheels off i was dealing with a larger setup.
just got etka today and had a poke about too.
now considering uprating all the brakes anyway, i have a corrado 16v and an 8v gti mk2 that could give up its stoppers.
anyone done it?
