Yeah go for the GTI vented disc option, and while your there probably a good idea to fit the 16v servo and master cylinder.
For the calipers I would change the flexy hoses too, so you'll need some GTI calipers and carriers, discs and pads and some flexy hoses, plus a load of brake fluid and a bleeding kit.
There's a good guide on here for changing the servo and MC, if your struggling.

Not sure about mk2's, or what markings they'll have on them either, I had some calipers but I weighed them in with a load of other scrap metal! Not helpfull, sorry!
Have a look on ebay, you'll be looking for them to fit 239mm discs.

any mk1/cabby/rocco 1.5-1.8 will have the calipers and carriers you need, just make sure they're late enough to have the VWII setup as very early have the same teeves stuff as you have now. look for VWII cast onto the caliper.
MK2 VWII calipers fit, as do MK3 golf, polo, seat etc they're on loads of cars. but all of the above have the carriers cast direct onto the bearing carrier/hub assembly, so the carriers you still need from the carriers only mk1/cab/rocco or polo mk2/3 will work as well. polo g40 actually have VWII calipers which fit, but they aint exactly common in scrappy unlike poverty spec mk3 golf
