Thought I'd finally get around to putting up some photo's of my latest project i picked up last August after a 2nd chance eBay offer :-) After 2 months away with work I'm now back at the welding up phase before putting it in for a bare metal respray.

Fully stripped the car before having the rear axle powder coated, all new suspension and all new suspension bushes fitted. Renewed all the handbrake setup so i have at least some sort of brakes whilst moving it around.

Going to be keeping it original as possible with some minor upgrades. But had in my head from the start that i want it to turn out pretty much like the one that has just won photo of the year on this website.

Before this I had never welded before. I'm sure you'll be able to tell that. But was told that It had so much to be done that not only would i save myself a lot of money but I'd be a fully fledged welder by the end of it. After a lot of practice i started on the bits that wouldn't be seen once the car had been painted and seam sealed up. Gradually my welding has improved and so I've been able to tidy up the bits i first started on too.

Nice work there. I've just bought myself a mig welder too.

Your fortunate to have a nice garage, much easier to work on.

I'll be following your progress, so far so good!

Looks like you’ve made a good start, do you mind if I ask what wire and gas you’re using?

Looks like an interesting one.

I have a question though…………….

Why 'Project Alice' are you hoping it'll save you from the coming Zombie Apocalypse?  I'm more relying on my axe and chainsaw tbh

Nice work so far.

Ha! I'd already decided to call the car Alice, then when deciding on what to title my post in the project section the name fell in to place.
I guess I'm saving the car itself from being a rusty zombie car in someone's garden before it couldn't be saved…

In other news I managed to get the other inner wing done at the weekend. Away with work nowfir the next two weeks, but then I've booked just over a week off purely to get as much done as possible. Hopefully in that time I can have it ready to put in to paint. Fingers crossed!
