Whoop whoop!. The golfs now painted after spending quite a few hours flatting the primer over the past couple days after work.

Just need to do the top and interior side of the rear panel then give it a good polish up

more pic's

After unwrapping, i recoated the rear arch lips with por15 and also painted the rear drums. While it was up in the air, i gave my stainless backbox a polish up and refiitted it.

Spent the rest of yesterday messing with my jack(seals)

Today after work, i started flatting the paint ready for a good mop

You may also notice the rear tyres are now wider. I've opted to lose the stretch in favour of better grip and handling. Will get the front 2 swapped when i lift the car to baffle the sump.

Update time for those who are actually interested

Friday evening after work i got the rear windows fitted and also swapped the sump for the one i fitted to my abf block. Also fitted a windage tray while i was at it

pic of the 1 i took off

Will straighten this out, reinforce it then fit to my ABF thats on the engine stand.

I spent yesterday fitting tyres to my ibiza and the front 2 of my splits. Once i was back down the unit, i set about fitting more trim etc
Also adjusted the camber and wound the coilovers down til there was around 10mm between coilover rings and tyre.
New side stripes

This morning i plastic welded my cut down duckbill splitter

Will smooth it off before retexturing so it'll look like a deep 1 piece splitter :)

Back to the unit for more work then out for a few pic's

Still things to do but nearly there

Oh, and to top it off, here's a pic found of me on the Nurburgring last year

I loves it

Lol, it goes on a ferry this Friday morning to go the nurburgring again, that's why I've spent every spare hour on it. Few more things to sort then it's ready.

How you getting on anyway?

closer than i was ever before. that bolt we repaired has become a nice mouse house. i'm hoping i've chased it away from the car now.
just sorting out wires in the bay and trying to route them nicely and neatly.need some more heatshrink and cable protector from work.

Cool. I'll reweld that bolt if it's still open mate. My welders down the unit so when your driving again, you could pop round.

for now it looks solid enough, hasn't moved with me bouncing on it to check. next are brake lines, then we are a step closer to MOT, once a few more parts are purchased. then it will beon the road and i'll take you up onthe offer of tidying it up.

cheers

Pic's of me on the Ring last weekend

Did a 10min 30sec lap on my 4th ever lap. 6 corners under yellow flags too so i'am pretty happy as i dropped my speed right down. Once i'am used to the track and i've done a few upgrades to the car, my times will easily drop :)
