Im a newbie to this site. a member on edition38 :)

I drive a mk1 cabriolet gti. not your everyday one!






the spec of the car
Full Spec

Engine bored to a 1.9 By GTI Engineering in Silverstone
3" Exhaust (Magnum)
Supersprint 4 Branch Manifold & Mid Section.
Lowered 40mm Front 30mm Rear on Cabro Bogue KH springs & shocks with bump stops (the stiffest in the world :( )
TSR 203 Cam
K&N Panel Filter
reconditioned bottom end
Bottom Strut Brace
mk2 fuel filter (bigger)
BBS 15" Alloys
MK2 Gti Front Seats (half leather)
CAT 1 Alarm/Immob

the engine revs up to past 8k definate but need to measure it correctly with a bigger tachometer

but its quick :)

Hi there car look really good. Those GTI engineering engine are really good had one in an old MK II once and it was quicker then most 16 valvers.

thanks guys

it is quick! currently getting the core plugs change as they were leaking water, so should have it back tonight, had new discs and pads on fronts, so looking forward to a good drive

it has brilliant top end speed, but low end power needs to be increased i feel!!!!

not done a run yet on my private airfield  :lol:

yep it should do mate if not a bit more, judging by the specs i reckon 130, depending on your gearbox and final drive...

cool :)

got my car back, all fixed, brake pedal is still very low so not sure with that, but getting it tuned up next week + mk2 throttle body :)

not sure but its defo bigger as the audi100 runs 5 cylinders

ive got a mate with a 2l bottom end, flowed polished head and 300degree schrick cam with a audi100 tb fitted, thats one scary quick car

as far as i know yep
im no expert mate theres others here who know better
try posting it up in modifications too


mines stayin stock bein as its so rare and all that

its in having its first diagnostic tune up since i got it back on the road and thro its mot

cant wait to try her out get it back at 3
