Newbie in Cornwall
Hi all, After a long time I've eventually become the owner of ELMA my first Mk1. The plan is to do things as and when I can, or as and when they need doing! Just to get things started does anyone know the best way to get the doors back in alignment? Cheers Mat

The door drops when opened and sits low when shut. you can just see it in this pic

hi nice car sometimes you can get them to sit right by adjusting the hinges or in you case it might work to fit shims to bottom hinge hard to say without seeing it tho
you dont want to see me angry im like noddy with a headache.

hi and welcome matt.
it sounds like you've got a worn out top hinge pin, maybe wear in the bottom as well. very common and an easy fix. to test open door grab bottom corner and lift, any play, its the hinge pin.
btw, nice car, lovely colour, think i spotted you in truro the other week!lol

Had a look at the hinges at the weekend and no play in them at all! I think the bottom hinge is bent as the front shut line gets smaller at the bottom and it's the rear of the door that's the lowest. Didn't have much time to sort it our as I've found where the water is coming in, leaking sunroof, what a surprise! I knew there was a reason why I wanted a non-sunroof version.

Nicky_lee, made it to the gym then! Did you have red shorts on or a green T-shirt? Both of you are new faces to me. Sorry didn't ask around as I'm not the most social person at 6.30! Next time your in say hi, I'm the Ginger bloke who was doing weights. Cheers Mat
