I have a soft spot for SA dubs, I lived there for 8 years as a kid, I was brought up in Kombi's and Beetles.  We had a lime green varient 4 estate
which we traveled around SA in for many years.  

Are there many 3 doors about?

Im going there this october. Anything there i should buy that i cant in the UK??

not many 3 doors around in good nick   VWSA just discontinued production of the CITI Golf which is a 4 door version based on the MK1 platform but with slightly different fenders, grille and bumpers. You can see some examples in the pics of the event.

In terms of what to get in S.A. that you can't in the UK mmmmmm tough one, browse this website www.autostyle.co.za they are the biggest aftermarket suppliers here in South Africa but you'll probably find most of the products over there anyway. Otherwise buy yourself a bag of sunshine    I've heard that's in serious shortage up North hahahahaha
