if i fit a new vynil roof to my cab thats got no rear window built in to it will i pass the mot, as i dont want a rear window

I cant see why not, the only stipulation for glass is for the drivers view of the road ie windscreen. If no rear glazing was a failing point then vehicles with opening rear windows e.g. freelander would not be allowed.
If in any doubt I would ask an mot inspector, I'm sure he/she would advise without charge.

theres no legal requirement for a rear window :wink: and for a matter of interest you dont need a windscreen either 8O ir its fitted its gotta be in good condition

cool then only someone wants to sell me a brand new roof 100 with out a bk window which i wanted as the one on my car riped on that bit

Isn't there something in the Road Traffic Act that says you'll need 2 working rear view mirrors if you don't have a centre mirror?
I can't remember now and I con't find it under Google for a 100% correct answer. ops:
Just a thought as the car above hasn't got an 'off side' one…but it is foreign!
