1.5 to a 1.8

hi yall

need some advice , if i drop a 1.8 carb engine into my dub which is currently running a 1.5 carb what extra stuff do i need

ie is it just a case of changing the block and gearbox ??

if not pls advise

Are you changing from 4 to 5 speed?

Both are "Big Block", so you wouldn't have to change the gearbox if you don't want to…

If you are going from 4 to 5 speed though as Crazy asked, you may need to change some of the gear linkage/shifter setup.

ok my gear knob upon close inspection has 1-4 reverse & e
e being my 5th gear
pls advise

Keep the box then - 5 speed already - or you could put another 5 speed box with better ratios

if you happen to get a 1.8 carb in with gearbox as to tell ya the truth hate mine then drop me a line prefer lowest milage poss .

I've got a few 5 used speed boxes in stock and will be stocking fully rebuilt 9A and FD boxes in a few weeks.
