Tyres for BBS RS016's - Help!

Post

Afternoon All,

I've recently bought a set of BBS RS016 split rims for my MK1 Golf GTI (as pictured). They came with tyres (not fitted) at 195/45 R15, but these will need to be stretched to fit the rims and every garage that I've spoken to won't touch stretched tyres or doesn't have the equipment needed. I'm not personally that keen on stretched tyres, however I'm struggling to find an alternative tyre size that would be suitable.

Can anyone shed any light on what the original, non-stretched tyre size should be?

The wheel specs as follows:

Width: 6 1/2
Diameter: 15"
Offset 32.0
PCD: 4 X 100

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

a 195 -45 on a 6 1/2 inch wheel is not stretched at all in fact that is the tyre you need to run

Cheers DanBoy, managed to find a place in Salford (http://www.sheldonsmanchester.co.uk/) that fitted the 195/45's in the end. They look a treat on the car now!

I think it was more a case of the other garages being afraid to touch split rims!
