What is it?

When renewing the insurance on my 1991 Cab GTI, the brokers's computer suggested that I owned either a Sportline or Rivage-to which I said 'duh?'

So, how do I tell? I am trying to keep the car original and I have ditched the crap that previous owners have felt obliged to spoil the car. It is a metallic midnight blue with four-button leather steering wheel, subtle dark blue trim.

Rivage -
like this
..and should have a 'Rivage' decal just in front of the rear wheel arches….

Owning a Mk1 cabby is a vertical learning curve…

Rivage?

If you think it is a rivage and don't have the stickers near the rear arches, I had some made, they are ?10 each if you are interested! They are absolutely spot on! If it is a Rivage, it will look purple in the sun! By all accounts the paint on the Rivage was done for that car only, it is a metalic blue pearl! The wheels on the car were Le castellet forged 15" alloys and if you have a set on your car then keep them as they are becoming very hard to find nowadays! Other tell tale signs for a rivage is power hood, electric windows and heated seats! The steering wheel sounds wrong on yours though! …Walt! :nerd:

What is it!

Certainly is mine!! Cheers for the complement! Yeah it is a sunny day car only! But I do drive it..Otherwise what was the point of buying it! I had looked for 8 years for one good enough so it would be a shame not to get some real enjoyment out of it! Besides, cars need to be driven every now and again don't they?  :D
