Passed the MOT!!!!! How happy am I!

Well after 11 months of blood, sweat and sleepless nights, yesterday she passed the MOT  :cheer:  :cheer:  :cheer:  :cheer:  :cheer:  :cheer:

Oh ok… she failed originally for 1 corroded brake pipe! but got one made up and fitted, popped back and got that Green ticket (they should be gold ya know!)

still need to take a look at one of the rear brake cylinders as the performance was pants (foot to the floor and I was looking like I was going for a number 2 and it only read 4 red dots….but still passed!)… but even with this I'm quiet impressed at how the brakes feel

all that's left is to sort out the insurance (The AA want ?1087 off me  8O ) and tax and I'll be smiling every time I drive her!

thanks for all the help from you guys when things got a little tricky and you'll all get to see her at the owners meet… once I've been paid so I can become a paid member!

Nice one Phil - well done!  Bet it's made the hard work worth it. I look forward to seeing your car at Gaydon.

Have you shopped around much for the insurance? I know every company is different for everyone but I always used to get quotes off the AA and they were always more than double anyone else.

Footman James seems to be a popular choice here!

Excellent news mate - very pleased for you!!!!

As for the Insurance, try HIC too on 08451 290 290.
They can be very competitive, especially if you go for a classic, limited mileage policy…

Not really got any updated pics but will take some in this nice weather!

It's made it really worth it, only driven 8 miles so far and even though the tappets could do with being done and the timing's slightly out it's such a nice drive!

Cheers AL I'll give them a try, looks like I HAVE to get an alarm fitted at the moment though, checked Tesco's website, they've quoted ?547 with an alarm fitted so it's looking better already, just can't afford to spend a few hundred on an alarm at the moment

Yay Phil well done mate!  :cheer:  :y:   !

I think insurance will be cheaper when you're 25 and on classic insurance. That's what I'm hoping for any ways

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

If you've got insurance you can start driving it - get tax when you get the docs - you'll be buying from 01/07 anyway

hmmm. may be the case, but i've been messed about in the past and don't want to risk any hassle to be honest, also think I may have been caught on sunday doing 60mph in a 50   :banghead:

I think I can hold on a day or so…

Must say though I NEED to take my girlfriend out for a meal or something for paying the insurance until I get paid! 11 months of me spending most weekends working on the car and she helps out paying for stuff when I'm short…  :notworthy:
