Hello once more..................

My new mk1 (Check the plate hence NEW!) ?331 English european poundage! just about finished rubbing down the surface rust on the rear arches, soon be road worthy. rub, prime, paint, paint, rub, rub, rub……..time to buy GTI arches to hide my work!

Not really posted for a while need to get into the swing of things again.

If the photos do not work then my deepest apologies!

Oh and of course my GTI.

Nice, where did you find it at that price ? Just been a post about arches becoming scarce [possibly] have a search before it's too late

Well its the first last minute bid i have ever won on ebay, slow PC, two sessions open limited myself to ?360 45 secs to go and bang as luck would have it………MINE!

The arches have surface rust but will last the course until my GTI is up to scratch. If that ever happens.

Arches getting rare better start buying some bits then, GTI needs some work to rear! Arches, panel, bottom rear corners……..is this the new fuel crisis, mk1 owners panic buying panels!

It is clean and tidy, a few stone chips here nd there. It does need work to the rear panel and one rear arch possibly both. Being taken off the road so that I can give it some TLC. Hence why I took the picture from the front! Been looking at you resto stuff, brilliant. Would like to have the 'balls' to attempt it myself. It must give a truely magical sense of self achievement!

Will post more pics of the 1.1c soon sporting le castallet alloys and GTI arches! (To hide my paint work).

it's a lot of hard work doing everything yourself but so far it's been a great learning experience.. the prep work I've done looks better in the pictures!  ops:

you have to post your progress on them when work starts, what's your plans for the red one? daily driver?

No its got some after market go faster stripes and GOLF decals down the side. They are very 80's will post pics later.

I agree, your black GTI could be straight out of the 1983 brochure!  8) Very smart. All the best with your plans for the other one! Be a nice runabout if that's what you're intending… :wink:
