Donations button - good idea?

I'm sure most of you will be happy to enjoy all the prospective club benefits (discounts, sticker, annual meet etc for ?10 this year and ?20 annually) but I wondered whether those of you who are just online users would be happy to click a 'donations' button every now and again. I thought about setting this up at a suggested ?1 or so. This would be designed to keep the forum free for general use (online adverts will soon be chargable)

Thoughts?

Cheers,

Drew.

Drew - I thought that the forum was going to be free for read only and only club members could post - was that discussed at the AGM?

If not a donation button would be a good idea - I wonder how many people would actually use it though.

No, the minutes state we would keep the forum open to all (subject to review) other than the sales areas.

I doubt the entire forum population would give it a click, but perhaps some of the more knowledgable posters, on completing a piece of good advice could suggest the donation but as a nice way of saying 'thanks'.

Okey dokey - sounds good to me  :D  unless there is/would be a significant amount of work behind it.

Will you publish the accounts of donations and IT spend?

Yup. It would be part of the standard figures for the club.

Sorry Drew, I can't see anyone at all clicking the donations button (IMO).

Has anyone donated yet?

I think it certainly wouldn't do any harm to have it on the site, with maybe a plug for the membership next to it?
