That pipe from tank to fuel pump.....a question

I have had to improvise as the short pipe tore replacing the pump. No pretty and I did end up covered in super unleaded… All that was to hand was an oil breather pipe which was slightly bigger bore but thick enough and now on there with suitable clips and no obvious degrading after 48hrs. What I want to know is; is the oil breather pipe (designed to carry oil vapour ie petroleum disstilates of sorts) ok to be used for this purpose or is it a time bomb waiting to happen???
Anyone had/have any experience??

i would think that it will end up discentergrating, get some proper fuel line down there, better of to be safe then sorry

your not wrong Simon!! its gone and softened up and fallen through..   leaving me to do a repair in the rain.. still always good to answer my own question so quickly.. :wink:  :roll:

I bought a some 9.5mm fuel hose from Halfrauds for about ?10 - not the cheapest, but it has seemed to do the trick so far.

Check your local car parts factor, they usually sell it fuel hoses of the drum in various sizes/specifications and cheaper than Hellfrauds.

Yup been there and done that 13mm fuel hose and clips to match fitted in pub car park in the rain. :roll:
