Hi, been and checked what i thought to be this wire, seems to be ok but still no temp gauge movement, could this also be connected with the dash lights not working as i also found out yesterday?
If so what else could i check for? Thanks

by dash lights do you mean the illumination, or the oil/temp/battery warning lights? if illumination no it wont be connected. if the battery light etc arnt working then you have lost the ign live feed to your dash, or the earth to the side of the head

Just the illumination, just checked fuse and had blown, replaced with a new one but still no dash illumination but rear number lights are working tho so maybe a wiring prob or possible for all dash bulbs to have blown maybe?

if non of the bulbs work i would look at the dimmer in the light switch. if wiggling it doesnt help pull the switch out the dash and bridge the red wire to the grey/blue. if dash lights come on its your switch, if not its the grey/blue wire or all of them have blown
with the dash temp try earthing the red/yellow wire to the head, if gauge shoots to max you need a new sensor. if not the red/yel wire is damaged, dash is faulty or the engine earth isnt so good. try running a wire from side of the head to the battery -ve to see if that helps, if not then its not the engine earth

I'd try earthing out the sensor wire too.
Doubt if the guage is at fault.
If you run a piece of wire from the sensor connector to the battery earth, you watch the guage needle shoot across.
If it does, you either have a dirty sensor conn or the sensor needs replacing.
Cheap to do either way!!
