intermittent dash failing!
every now and then my rev couter, indicator lights and the rest of the little round lights don't work but then after a few journeys go off and then after a few come on again. what can it be?!?!?!?!!?

Have a look at Dano's reply to 'instrument issues' going to look at mine today if the kids will give me 10 minutes peace
If it doesn't work, my dash is coming out for a good clean up behind the instruments - 21 years of dust can't be good for soldered electrickery

I had the same problem. The fault was a broken wire in the multi-point plug at the back of the dash - sometimes it would connect, other times it would part.
In the end I ran a bi-pass around the connector - everything works now except I have lost the gear change indicator on the econometer - this was ony an annoying flashing light anyway.
Run a multi-meter over the multi-point or get your local auto-electrician to check it out - requires removing the dash which is a pain but should only take him an hour .
