Settling In
Coil wiring early small block
After swapping my engine on a 77 series 1 small block im a bit stuck on the coil. my friend helping (ish) disconnected the coil without labelling :
Coil has the follwing 4 connections

I have the following wiring
Ballast
Green wire from condensor
red/black wire
lilac/grey & black wire joined.
someone match them up for me

I think you'll find that there's only 2 connections on the coil, but there is a double space terminal bent in a U shape with the stud in the middle. The ballast is the live feed, the negative connects to the dizzy. I can't remember which side the capacitor goes on, but I suspect it's the negative. The other wire might be the rev counter feed.

Green goes to the - as does purple/black wire
you have +12 to Ballast through that to the + on the coil (if that makes sense)
Basically the green switches the - rail which is what collapse the coil and makes the spark. The purple/black is the feed for the rev counter.
