Each used different mechanisms, and each have different trims.
The Vert has a Vinyl clad Foam strip on the top of the door that is held in place by the inner scraper and the door card, they become Cracked. The only true plastic bit on the door is the back edge of the Vinyl Strip to (trim it to the rear edge.)
For the Vinyl Clad Strip I usually use red 3m Weather strip double sided tape to "glue" it in place, I also used it on the door where your elbow usually rests to "Pad" the foam and give it more support so it won't crack.
My 81 Golf 4 door didn't have the strip, it had exterior paint on the top edge…..
I have seen folks replace the Foam with Vinyl, that they have glued to the door in place of the Foam, and it doesn't look that bad. I have also seen folks glue closed cell foam to the door frame then wrap and glue that with vinyl. Which doesn't look too bad as well.
A cabby's manual mech
Cabriolets top door trim, the Vinyl Cladded Foam.
Cabriolet upper trim, and behind the screw driver you can see the plastic rear trim that wraps from the front to the rear.
So we need to know, Tudor Fourdoor or Vert.
What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
