Hi all,

I'm  looking to buy a Gti (Hardtop). I'm not bothered about condition too much as it will be undergoing a restoration. My only real concern is that it is solid and rot free.

Hope someone can help..

i would say you are unlikely to find a rot free one, unless you are willing to pay real strong money. personnaly i would buy as honest and complete as possible example and strip it and fix it. if you are planning to restore anyway there shouldnt be a problem.

Alright Jim!

I've got about 2500 to play with to get one.

Unfortunately the cabby will be for sale to fund some of this. Its now pretty immaculate so I've got bored haha.
