Briano1234. Oh Sh*t that looks bad, so glad you are Ok, we love our Golfs but at the end of the day it's a bit of metal and we are more important, the Golf has done it's job of looking after you which is good.
Take care fella as we need you

Amazingly the car was towed home to be parked so the strippage could begin… but the engine turns over and runs Noisily, what with no Coolant, the oil cooler smashed, so I don't know the oil level in the engine as I can't open the hood……. but the passenger door is out of adjustment and will open a tad, then bind and I am not going to force it, as either the hinges or "a" pillar has taken the hit…
mmmmm Rebuild or swap over…mmmmmm

Really sorry to hear about your crash, glad to hear you’re ok though! I really wouldnt consider a rebuild after such a smash, these cars are so brittle that trying to get it back to alignment might just make it all much worse… I dont know how you handle your issurance stuff where you’re at, but either way I’d hand the car to the insurance co. and grab the money and buy another one or if it were the case sell the good bits and then be on my way to look for another. Theres so many fine examples out there. Thats just my take, do what you feel is right for you.

Enlarging a spare inlet manifold to accept a mk2 golf gti throttle body. Not the prettiest but should be fine.

Cleaned and reproofed my roof, and myself…..
But now dry and tucked up under the dust cover in the garage. (And so is the car).

I have Had the entire kit off this car in the last few weeks and other than some lifting sealant on the edges of the sills, where joeys have jacked it up in the past, and a few minor scabby bits at the bottom of front wings all is in great condition 👍🏻
Next is to fit the new grey hood and exhaust 😎

Well after yesterday’s adventure set about instigating the noise at the rear. Turns out my wheel run REALLY close to the couple springs. Also turns out that just by turning them round a little just enough clearance is generated. Phew.
Also changed the bottom bolts on the rear shocks for new ones
Refurbished one calliper and will do the other soon.

Oh and painted the drums while the wheels were off. Nothing special just a quick blast with some rattle can.
