£8 ebay. Been on the car for 4 years and good at keeping the mud off, made of a sort of rubber with a metal strengthening bar inside.
Been please with them and this is the 2nd set I bought after the last set lasted 18 years, they got brittle and a corner broke off.

You can get them with a blue and white VW logo or Black and white like mine.
Make sure you don't buy ones like these as they are rubbish, bought a set for my wifes polo, they have more of a curve at the bottom and are thicker.

Look alright mate and certainly do the job.
Hard to tell from my phone but looks like you riveted them on.
I did see a guy on here modify a set from a Mk2 and they were also on a white one and boy did they look good!

They are just screwed into the plastic wheel arch extension, I did have to put another bigger screw in as the mud flap was ripped off by me dropping of a curb I did not spot in the dark
I have also covered the screw heads in waxoyl to stop the rusting away.
A couple of the holes you can see are the metal straightening bar.

Cabrio that might have been me mate
lambrettalee - take a look at my clipper link below, I am sure the sets I got were Mk2, there is a pic of the part number there.
The front fitted perfect, looked so good, the rear needed a tweak really as sat on an angle a bit.
I left them on the car when I sold it, and when I got the Sportline I was gutted I didn't take them off so I had them to fit to that

I had these fitted to my Mk1 for years, they were originally OEM parts out when the Mk2 golf was launched and fit without drilling.
Took them off last year as don't do enough miles to need them on anymore

Do they fit a Mk1 Cabriolet with the body kit and wheel arch liners?

Not sure, they fit between the black wheel arch and the arch liner on a tintop.

Well I'm caught between a rock and a hard place.
Last year I bought a pair of Mk2 front mudflaps brand new in Austria. Found them on eBay, it was a 7 day sale with 6 days left.
So I bid €1.00 and won them!
Plus €4.50 post.
Now I'm waiting for the rears to come up for €1.00!
So not sure what to do.

Check out the mudflaps for the South African Citi Golf.
If you Google for images it seem to suggest the front arch / sill profile matches the standard UK MK1 shape.
The Citi's rear bumper differs though which would probably have an effect on proper fitting.
Having said that maybe it's a closer match for Cabby's with body kits?
R220 is about GBP£10.50 for a set of four… Postage might be an issue though!

I have seen these before but personally I find them a little bland for a Cabby with the body kit. Not sure they go with the curved shape if you get my meaning.
The post I just can't find they have the moulded VW logo's on them in white and the did look cool!
Thanks for sharing though!

I installed some NOS. Old plastic is prone to cracking. Probably won't go that route again.
