Painting red grill trim

i have just bought a silver grill trim for my car. I was told that this is how they come from the factory and that i just need to paint it red.  Can anybody tell me the best way to do this and with the exact paint colour?!  :dontknow:

Many thanks, Andrew

There has been several posts in the past on this topic.  iirc the favourite was white primer and Mars Red No.1 paint (Halfords for aerosol).  You might spend a few mins using the Search function on this site but someone else my know more.

Can't remember the colour code but Mars Red No2 is LA3A

Cheers

The correct paint to use is Mars Red No1 L31B

If you follow the topic below you can see a VW OE part with this code.
