1.6 engine issue

hi there have 1.6 gl cabrio with weber carb had the car now for about 6 months and did alot of work on it redo all bearing brakes new hood service the carb and major service with cambelt but just have one issue its had new plugs new leads and coil but still does something strange.  idle is fine hot or cold doesnt need the choke to much but if started cold and start to drive it starts to jerk and wants to die and dies sometime but once warmed up seems to be ok just but does that again once in blue moon and the rev counter works and stop on off just really annoying as my golf is slowly starting to come together any help would be great thanks
